The Otters Pavilion Renovation is a very unique project both mechanically and architecturally within the Calgary Zoo. The project included the replacement of the existing boiler system and upgrades to the existing otter facility to improve the Otters quality of life. Arpi’s Industries is responsible for the hydronic heating and cooling, HVAC and plumbing for the project as well as managing the fire protection, mechanical insulation and BMS subcontractor scopes of work. The project also has unique elements such as an LSS room (Life support systems for the otters) and unique in-slab heating systems that are built into the imitation rocks where the otters play and relax. Projects like the Otters Pavilion Renovation reminds us of how unique and rewarding the construction industry can be.
