Learn the Basics and Benefits of an HVAC Maintenance Agreement

Learn the Basics and Benefits of an HVAC Maintenance AgreementCalgary residents can experience some unpredictable weather with Chinook winds responsible for as much as 20 or 30 degree shifts over just a few hours. Even during the summer, evening temperatures can become uncomfortably chilly. These unpredictable changes in temperature make keeping your HVAC system running smoothly important all year. It may be worth signing up for a maintenance agreement with your dealer to keep your equipment operating at its best.

Think about the price of routine service and replacement parts to keep your HVAC system functioning properly. Every spring and fall, a technician needs to check the starting cycle, making sure that it turns on and off appropriately. Voltage and current on any electrical components need to be measured, thermostats calibrated and all electrical connections tightened. Any moving parts require lubrication to prevent friction and run more cost effectively. Will the maintenance agreement cover all of these expenses?

In addition to routine care that the system requires, there are parts that need to be regularly checked for wear and tear and eventually replaced. Will the maintenance agreement cover these parts and the associated labour bills?

In addition to the biannual service visits, any moving parts will eventually need to be replaced. The replacement parts and labour may cause the cost of the policy to be higher. However, ignoring this wear and tear can lead to unexpected system malfunctions. Nobody wants to be without heat during the winter!
